WSROC Training & Employment began operations
in 1981 with the support of the State and Federal Governments, Trade
Unions and Industry. The company is not-for-profit, with the aim
of providing employment and training solutions to the community
of Western Sydney. Complementary to this, Hosts can concentrate
on their business without the usual employment worries associated
with taking on an apprentice/trainee. At the same time it provides
Hosts with a wage service, training–employment support service,
and assists the Host in maintaining current industry knowledge and
practice.
Since 1981, the company has graduated in excess
of 800 well trained tradespeople for industry, and provides services
throughout the Sydney Region.
WSROC Group Apprentices is controlled by a Board
of Directors drawn from Local Government, Industry and the Department
of Education and Training NSW. It has established links with schools,
TAFE Colleges, Industry and local communities, with an enviable
reputation in the employment and training sector. It responds to
a Code of Conduct.
