What is an Australian Apprenticeship?

An Australian Apprenticeship is an excellent way for businesses to increase the skills within their business. Students learn skills that enable them to work within a specific industry as well as gaining valuable work experience.

Australian Apprenticeships can be classified as a Traineeship, an Apprenticeship or a Trainee Apprenticeship (NSW). These can vary in length and qualification however a Traineeships tend to be more specific and an Apprenticeship tend to be of longer duration.

Traineeships can be up to 3 years and are either workplace based training program or institution based training programs.

Some traineeships can be delivered entirely on the job with the help of a training plan and with assessments by a qualified Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

An apprenticeship is a four year entry-level training and employment program designed for people wishing to commence a career in a chosen trade.
